English

In the early school years, the course of study activities are based on the Early Years Literacy Program.

These include reading, writing, speaking and listening, and drama.

As basic skills are mastered, the conventions of language usage are applied – pronunciation, punctuation, grammar, spelling and handwriting. Library sessions are an integral part of the course.

In the later primary and secondary years, students will cover the structure of language, creative writing, drama, oral English, debating and written comprehension, developing the skills they will need to prepare them for VCE English. VCE subjects are English and Literature.
