L.O.T.E (Indonesian)

Learning another language takes students beyond the confines of their own culture and challenges them to reconsider what have become accepted patterns of thought by the single use of the English language. LOTE (Indonesian) forms part of the core curriculum in Year 7 and 8. Year 9 and 10 students are able to study Indonesian as an elective. VCE Indonesian is offered in Year 11 and 12.

The LOTE curriculum endeavours to teach students skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening. Furthermore, students have the opportunity to learn about the diverse cultures of Indonesian through a variety of experiences including visiting speakers, performances and excursions. The College also offers the opportunity for students to participate in study tours to Indonesia and Malaysia. Some students choose to study a different language externally through either the Victorian School of Languages or Distance Education Victoria.
