Careers

All Senior School students participate in the Careers program which incorporates individual career counselling and a range of curriculum initiatives. As part of the Year 10 Lifeskills program students undertake career exploration.

This program allows students the opportunity to explore the relationship between careers and their interests, likes, talents and values. It also provides them with practical career research and job search skills and increases their awareness of career pathway options. Incorporated into the program are external activities such as a visit to a tertiary institution, guest speakers and vocational education and training familiarisation through TAFE and trade visits. Year 10 students are supported in making program and subject selection choices for Year 11. Information evenings and individual counselling sessions are made available to students and parents.

Throughout Years 11 and 12 students prepare for the transition to further study, work or training through individual career counselling, investigation of transition issues through the Lifeskills program and participation in relevant external careers events.
